Anyone with any medical problems should gain further advice if they are unsure whether it is advisable. Fasting has value in its own right as a discipline, but please note, this is a week of fasting and PRAYER so we ask you to take time you may not normally have (eg preparing or eating meals) and get alone with God to pray! See below…

PRAYER POINTS – for week of fasting and prayer at Liberty church

Mon 20th Jan INTIMACY and IDENTITY – two great keys are intimacy with the Lord and to know and live from our God given identity. Please take dedicated time today to just fellowship with the Lord, to enjoy him, and to pray over your true identity in Christ as a son/daughter of the most High God! Allow time to just BE in His Presence and to encounter Him in the secret place of prayer. God is good, even when we are fasting!! *Key Scripture focus – “I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit, apart from me you can do nothing” John 15v5

Tues 21st Jan – AUTHORITY – As we live in intimacy and our true identity we must begin to understand and take hold of our AUTHORITY as a believer. We must! We cannot afford to be passive over what God is passionate about. We cannot allow our prayers to be empty of authority and faith. We cannot allow the enemy to render us defeated or dormant about who we are! So – what areas of your life and situation require you to rise up in authoritative prayer today? Take today to rise up and claim back ground that the enemy has stolen from you. Pray specific prayers and release God’s authority in fervent and effectual prayer! *Key Scripture focus – ‘You are raised up with him (co-ascended with Jesus) and seated with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 2v6

Wed 22nd Jan – MISSION – Please pray for a great harvest and awakening in our district and towns. Pray for Cookstown. Pray that we would be mobilised in mission and ask God how you can be used in this way. Pray for your loved family/friends/colleagues who don’t love Christ. Pray for God’s mercy upon those who are outside of His Kingdom. Pray too please for all the ventures we are involved with locally – for YOUTH as it starts, for Mums and Tots, for Blessed, for Ladies ministry, for Life Groups, for Sundays, and for the general witness or evangelism of the church….pray for great breakthroughs and many to be saved and added to Jesus’ church locally!! Pray for boldness to reach out to people with the gospel Please pray too for the Oweggis in Kenya, for the Johnsons in India and other church partners near and far *Key Scripture focus – “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” Matt 9v38

Thurs 23rd – REVIVAL – Pray for a great reviving in your own life. Pray that the distractions/discouragements/disappointments no longer hold you back. Pray for a release of God’s refreshing and a rising up in the Spirit of God. Wait on Him. Be filled afresh and ask God to help you make plans to be more intentional about walking by the Spirit! Pray for the church in NI and Rep of Ireland. Pray for a move of God! Call down the rain and the reign of God in our land!! Please also pray specifically for Liberty church to receive and catch a move of God and to be a church of encounter and Holy Spirit renewal. Pray for many changed lives. When was the last time you wept over sin or cried agonised prayers for a loved one. This is your time Liberty, lets arise and allow Holy Spirit to cause us to arise!! *Key Scripture focus – ‘And afteward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions” Joel 2v28

Fri 24th Jan – SPECIFIC NEEDS – please pray for specific people, situations, areas of great need, obstacles to be removed, breakthrough to come where it’s needed. Allow the Holy Spirit to lay burdens on your spirit to pray intensively over people. Pray too for this Province at this difficult time. Pray for blessing over leaders and those in authority. Please pray too for your Pastor and his family. *Key prayer focus – “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” 1 John 5v14
